I thought it would be helpful to create a resource page that you can always come to for all of your course creation needs. I’ll add to it as I learn more, but you’ll notice that in the future I will reference this page quite often. I recommend bookmarking it for your reference and convenience. Enjoy!

Please understand that I have experience with all of these companies, and I recommend them because they are helpful and useful, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something. Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them or that they will help you achieve your goals.
The platform that I use to run all my sites is WordPress. It is so useful, customizable, and you can do so much with it. Over 60 Million people use WordPress and it is constantly growing. There is also a huge wealth of information in their forums. It is also easy to find someone to work on your site and customize it. Finally if you are completely technically unsavvy WordPress is the tool for you. If you can write a word document you can use WordPress and publish content. All my examples and teachings will be done on WordPress and with the assumption that you are using WordPress.
I recommend HostGator as the place to host your site. You can also purchase your domain through HostGator. Their prices are always changing so check the site often. They can usually start you off for less than $10 a month and more than likely they will start you off for less than $5 a month. If it is more than $5 a month to start search HostGator coupons and find a code that will give you a discount.
Plugins can drive your WordPress website and really make it run efficiently and automatically. Here are the plugins that I recommend.
JetPack – usually comes with your WordPress installation. Activate it and I like to use the share functions, social media, and statistics. There are a lot of options and I have used most of them. With any of the options I never saw a slowdown in site speed or an increase in load time. JetPack is a great plugin.
All-In-One-SEO – Some say SEO is dead. they was marketers used it in the past is dead. However it still is important. Using this plugin will not only tell Google and other search engines how to display the results for your site it will also send the message that you want to your potential users. Using the proper keywords and descriptions can increase your click rates tremendously. All-In-One-SEO will take care of all of it for you.
Askimet – The best tool out there to prevent spam and bad comments on your site. just a great tool for blocking mean people.
Google XML Sitemaps – Google bots are good, but you can make them better by telling them where to go. Think of a spider robot crawling all over your site. If it is just randomly crawling around who knows what it will see and what it will think is relevant. With a sitemap it will know exactly where to go and what is relevant. Google XML Sitemaps creates this automatically.
