Freakonomics Podcast

FreakonomicsAs teachers we are always learning, that is probably what makes us great teachers.  But, why hasn’t anyone taught us about Finance?  No not creating a budget and balancing your checkbook, I mean financial literacy.

What is Financial Literacy?

Financial Literacy is a set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions through their understanding of finances (Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_literacy) But how does that apply to us?  We plan on showing you how to make an unlimited amount of money from your website.  But what are you going to do with this money?  If you don’t have financial literacy then you will not be better off than you are now.  That money will disappear, it will simply be gone and you will have no idea where it went.

Freakonomics is a great site, podcast, and book series and we can learn a lot from people who think a little different.  Give this great podcast a listen and learn what Financial Literacy can mean for you.
